Garmany Music Series: Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers

On Tuesday, July 15, the Farmington Libraries will host its second outdoor concert of the 2014 season when crowd favorite, the Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers return for another summer performance. This event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Barney Library, located at 71 Main Street.

The Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers was founded in 1972 and is a group of up to 75 members whose purpose is to preserve and promote the art of the old tyme fiddling that has been passed down from generation to generation by ear.  This old New England Fiddle Band style is what makes the club unique and what makes for a toe-tapping, hand clapping, fun-filled concert for music lovers of all ages. For more information on the band, please visit their web site: http://www.cbotfc.org/

Bring your lawn chairs, pack a picnic, and sit back and relax to the summer sounds in the Village. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be moved indoors, to the Barney Library’s Hoppin Gallery.

Advanced registration is required for the program. Please register in advance by calling the library at 860-673-6791 or using this link.

This event is made possible by Richard P. Garmany through a grant awarded by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. The Farmington Libraries will be hosting a variety of performances throughout the year as part of the Richard P. Garmany music series.

The Farmington Library is part of the Farmington Village Green and Library Association.  If you have special needs to attend library programs, contact the library in advance.
