Garmany Music Series: World Café for Guitar and Mandolin

On Sunday, February 23, the Farmington Libraries will host the Connecticut-based husband and wife team of Judy Handler and Mark Levesque for a guitar and mandolin concert entitled, “World Cafe.” This event will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Farmington Main Library at 6 Monteith Drive.

Aptly titled, “World Café,” this concert promises to be full of passionate & lyrical music from around the world. Handler and Levesque blend Brazilian, Latin, gypsy, jazz, classical and folk music influences to create their unique, expressive arrangements. Audiences respond with great enthusiasm to their extraordinary sound, amusing anecdotes and the joyful spirit of their music. The program will include music from Brazil, Paraguay, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Eastern Europe, China and more!

Handler and Levesque have performed over 1,500 concerts together throughout New England and the Midwest including the Autorino Hall at the Bushnell, The Jewish Museum in New York, Troy Music Hall, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Connecticut Guitar Society, First Night Westport, Music Mountain and many others. Their CDs Passion, Acoustic Blend & Two Guitars Live! have received critical acclaim and have been sold in dozens of countries throughout the world. Handler & Levesque have also been featured on numerous compilation CDs with other artists and many radio & cable T.V. programs.
