Slavery and the African American Experience in Farmington

Lisa Johnson, Director of the
Stanley-Whitman House, will host a discussion of Slavery and the African
American experience in Farmington between the years 1840 – 1900.  Lisa’s presentation includes research from
primary sources in the Stanley-Whitman collection and other local
collections.  Join us for the discussion on
April 13 at 4:00 p.m., in Amistad Hall, on the campus of the First Church of
Christ, Congregational, 1652 in Farmington. A free will offering will be
collected.



The First Church of Christ,
Congregational, 1652, is located at 75 Main Street in Farmington, near Miss
Porter’s School.  Sunday services are
held at 10 a.m. For further information, call the church office at 860-677-2601
on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or view the website at www.firstchurch1652.org.
