A hike to Will Warren's Den is the next offering in the Farmington Land Trust's 'Stroll on the Land' program this summer. Led by Land Trust member and avid hiker John Vibert, our group will meet at the Wadsworth Memorial parcel and hike up Rattlesnake Mountain to the den of the notorious Will Warren. At the summit there is a magnificent view of the northwest hills and the Berkshires on one side and the whole of our greater Hartford region's vistas on the other.
The hike is scheduled for Thursday, July 25th at 6pm. We will meet at the parking area on the south side of Route 6, east of Pinnacle Road & Reservoir Road. This two mile round-trip includes some strenuous climbing and rock scrambling at the top. a climb up to the summit. The roundtrip to the summit and back should take approximately 1 1/2 hours.
This event is open to the public. It is free and registration is not required. No pets please. In the event of rain, the hike will be rescheduled.
