The Beatles' Alter Ego, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

On Thursday, January 30, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., Aaron Krerowicz returns to the Farmington Libraries for a lecture entitled, “The Beatles' Alter Ego, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.” This event will take place at the main library at 6 Monteith Drive.

Since its release in 1967, the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band has often been regarded as the single greatest rock album, and one of the first rock concept albums. This 60-minute multimedia presentation will observe and discuss the landmark album track by track, citing musical and historical precedents, and illustrating the development of the songs through excerpts from interviews with the band members and clips of discarded takes.

An avid teacher and Beatles scholar, Aaron Krerowicz graduated from Butler University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Music in Theory & Composition; from Boston University in 2010 with a Master’s of Music in Composition; and from the Hartt School of the University of Hartford with a Graduate Artist Diploma in the same discipline in 2012. He currently teaches musical keyboarding and leads the school band at Grace Academy in downtown Hartford. He also runs a private instrumental lesson studio at Capital Preparatory Magnet School, in addition to maintaining a home studio. These lessons are open to the public. He will also offer a course entitled, “The Beatles: Band of the Sixties,” through Farmington Continuing Education. (www.fpsct.org).  For more information and a sample of the Beatles course, visit his web site at www.aaronkrerowicz.com.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited; to register please call the library at 860-673-6791 or use this link. For more information, visit the library's web site at: http://www.farmingtonlibraries.org. Advanced registration is required.
