Farmington's No. 1 Ranking in 2013 CT Career & Technical Ed. Assessment

Farmington Board of Education and Superintendent Greider are proud to announce Farmington’s Number 1 ranking in the 2013 Connecticut Statewide Career and Technical Education (CTE) Assessment

 Farmington High School received the #1 ranking in the 2013 Connecticut Statewide Career and Technical Education Assessment in the Automotive Technology area of concentration by the Connecticut State Department of Education.  On November 12, 2013, Farmington High School was honored for this achievement.  In addition, the Board of Education recognized this achievement at their January 27, 2014 meeting. Farmington High School Principal, Dr. Bill Silva states, “FHS automotive teacher Jim Corrigan is congratulated for his excellent work with his students.  We are fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated faculty member supporting our students.  In addition, Leslie Flowers is commended for her leadership of the department.”

 Mr. Corrigan commented "This award symbolizes the hard work and dedication of the Farmington High School students and faculty in the technology education programs at the high school. Over the past few years, the Farmington students and faculty from this department have shown incredible growth, ranking #1 in the state two years in a row. We hope to continue the tradition for many years to come."

 Superintendent Greider states, “We are proud to provide many opportunities for our students to explore their interests in a variety of careers during their high school years.  Jim and his students are celebrated for exhibiting excellence on the 2013 CTE Assessment in the area of Automotive Technology.”

 Jim Corrigan attended the November 12, 2013 luncheon and accepted the award on behalf of the Farmington schools.
