Farmington Boys Soccer Win Back to Back State Championships

Article submitted by Bob Palazzo:

Farmington boys soccer wins it again!   The Farmington boys soccer team won the Class L State Championship with a decisive 4 – 0 victory over # 2 seeded Joel Barlow.  What makes this state championship so special is that it is the first time in Farmington soccer history that the Indians won back-to-back state championships.  The 2013 team added another first earlier in the season with a CCC Conference Championship, making the “Farmington Indians” the first name to be inscribed on the championship trophy.

In Saturday’s Class L Championship game, Sabri Akter was awarded MVP, scoring 2 goals.  The first goal from Akter came 42 seconds into the game after hustling for a cleared ball.  The second, coming at the 8 minute mark, set the pace early in the game.  Colin Cheesman and Matt Sroka added one goal each.  Farmington controlled the game to the finish with solid performances from the defense, midfielders, and  forwards.
