Obituary: Robert K. "Bob" Lane, 69, of Farmington

Robert “Bob” Kinnaird Lane, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, from pneumonia and advancing pulmonary fibrosis.

Born February 1, 1945 in Chicago, Lane lived in Arlington, Va., Northern California and most recently in Farmington, where he was the beloved husband of Avis Turner and father of Robin Thomas Lane.

Lane was a Kerouac traveler of the '60s, with a brilliant mind for everything from math and physics, to car mechanics and computers, to history and law. He was at various times a candlemaker, small business entrepreneur, website designer and real-estate broker; who loved music, BBQ and good science fiction.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at UCONN’s ICU and especially to Lane's shift nurses throughout:

"Appreciation beyond words goes to that Monday night team, who guided and supported us with such compassion into Tuesday morning."

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
