CONNECTICUT HUMANE SOCIETY APPOINTS NEW LEAD CLINIC VETERINARIAN

NEWINGTON, Conn. (April 1, 2014) – The Connecticut Humane Society is pleased to announce that Dr. Kathleen-Marie Clark has been hired as the new Lead Clinic Veterinarian at the Society’s pet hospital, the Fox Memorial Clinic.

Dr. Clark’s duties will include spay/neuter programs, vaccination clinic programs, diagnosing and treating medical conditions and performing surgery. Additionally, she will be promoting preventative medicine for pets and educating the clinic clients about pet wellness.

Dr. Clark is a long time Newington resident who graduated Valedictorian from Newington High School and went on to earn her B.S. in Ecology from Cornell University. She also attended Cornell’s veterinary school where she earned her DVM.  Dr. Clark founded Twin City Animal Hospital in Newington in 1989 and remained with the practice until 2006. Throughout her career, Dr. Clark has also worked for several other Connecticut hospitals including VCA Cromwell Animal Hospital, Veterinary Specialists of CT, Lebanon Veterinary Hospital, Naugatuck Veterinary Hospital and Companion Animal Hospital in Groton. Her specialties include working with rabbits and Guinea pigs.

Dr. Clark knew from a very young age that the only career for her was to become a veterinarian. Her interest was sparked by her first pet; a dachshund named Faust who had epilepsy and needed regular veterinary care. Dr. Clark is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve her local community again and looks forward to reconnecting with some of her former clients.

Filling this position with such an experienced and talented veterinarian will help the Fox Memorial Clinic to propel itself into new program areas.
