The Farmington High School Music Department invites the senior citizens in town to two annual events called "Senior Cafe."  The events occur at the high school cafetaria celebrating the friendships amongst the seniors residents and high school students. This event occurred on October 18, 2013.

FHS musicians perform a cabaret-style concert while the seniors enjoy a deli dinner. The food is donated by FHS music families while the Friends of Music parents prepare the food.  Students from the music department and the TRI M Music Honor Society serve the food.  Students love to chat with the senior residents  making new friends and seeing seniors that return every year.  This event is in it's sixth year, Nancy Walker, Director of Senior Services says, "it is one of most popular events, the seniors look forward to it every year."

The Farmington High School Music Department is committed to service sharing student talent throughout the community.  Over five hundred students in the department perform for town residents with a focus on the service to the elderly.  Music brings people of all ages together.  These experiences assist students in becoming good citizens in the community by caring for others.
