Woman Dies After Head-on Crash

Colt Highway reopened around 1:30 p.m.

Update: A 24-year-old woman has died as a result of a head-on crash on Route 6 this morning. The name of the woman has not been released.

Original story: Two women were taken to area hospitals this morning after a head-on crash on Route 6 by Pinnacle Road. Their injuries are life-threatening, police said.

According to Farmington Police Lt. Marshall Porter, it looks as though one car crossed the center line at the top of the mountain and struck the other. Witnesses to the accident were able to describe what happened. Each of the women was alone.

Route 6 was closed between Reservoir Road and Scott Swamp Road for several hours while the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Team was on scene investigating.
