Avon Mountain Reopens
Route 44 was closed on the mountain briefly late afternoon Tuesday.
Avon Mountain closed temporarily late Tuesday afternoon so that the state could plow it, but that part of Route 44 in Avon has since reopened, police said just after 4 p.m.
There's a possibility Avon Mountain could close again this evening so that the plows can get through, but there is no scheduled time for that to happen so far, according to Avon police Lt. Kelly Walsh.
