Bomb Squad Responds to Weapons Cache on Fairview Drive in Farmington

Police said all guns were legally registered and grenades, mortar were inert.

When a bank foreclosed on a home on Fairview Drive in Farmington, they got more than they bargained for.

While cleaning out the house at 36 Fairview Drive, bank representatives found a stockpile of weapons, Farmington Police Lt. Marshall Porter said.

When the company came in to do inventory, they found 130 rifles, a couple of grenades and a mortar round, Porter said. There was also 20,000 rounds of ammunition.

The bomb squad was called in as a precaution but all of the grenades and the mortar are inert and very old, Porter said.

All of the guns, which now belong to the bank, are legally registered and no charges have been filed, Porter said.

The former owner of the house was David Gagliardi.

I just read this on a Boston website. I hope the only reason it's being reported is because the bomb squad was called since everything they found was legal. The article I read headlined that 130 guns were found like the owner did something wrong. These were legal guns and ammo if I'm not mistaken.. Inert grenades, bombs etc can also be purchased legally at any army/navy store. I hope we don't start reporting on individuals obeying the law.

I can understand why the house came under foreclosure. Former owner spent too much of his money on guns.

Very tight game by two super teams and played at least 80% on the Southbury half with 10 goalRead More attempts by Farmington. Their goalie was incredible. Unfortunately, close to the game's end, Farmington ran out of gas and they lost by 1 goal. Congratulations to Southington's soccer team for beating a great Farmington team!!!!!!!
