Connecticare Evacuates Due to Bomb Scare; Farmington Police Give the All Clear

The employer called police after a note was found scribbled in a bathroom stall.

Farmington-based ConnectiCare called in police today after an employee found a bomb threat written on the wall inside a bathroom stall, Farmington police said Friday afternoon.

Hundreds of employees were evacuated from the building and sent home early, but police said they walked through the building and found no credible evidence that the threat was real.

Lt. Marshall Porter of the Farmington Police Department said police officers were sent to the scene but found nothing beyond the scrawled message.

"We get these several times a year from different places and most of the time they're non-credible," Porter said.

According to the company's website, "ConnectiCare’s Farmington campus contains a high-technology service center that also provides disease and health management programs. There are approximately 500 employees based here. Most of our employees live locally in the Hartford region."
