Crash Into Pole Closes Route 4 Briefly

Driver reported to not be seriously injured.

Police, fire and CL&P responded to a crash on Route 4 in Unionville Friday afternoon when a single car crashed into a telephone pole. The car, which stood on two wheels, was removed by Edwards Motor Service and the hanging wires removed by a CL&P worker. The pole, officials said, would be fixed later, when the street would have to be closed again. The driver was reportedly transported to a local hospital but was not in serious condition.
