Original story: A young woman crashed into a telephone pole at the corner of Mohawk Drive and West District Road Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The girl, 18, may not have been paying attention, Officer Kyle Mortensen said at the scene, though no final determination has been made.
She was traveling down West District Road and hit the telephone pole hard, severing the telephone pole. The top portion remained dangling from the wires, while the bottom lay on the sidewalk.
The girl was not hurt, nor was anyone else, police said. Police and firefighters are on scene but the road remains open.
