Farmington Man Charged in Armed Robbery

Justin Wise allegedly robbed Subway restaurant where he used to work.

A Farmington man was charged after reportedly robbing the Subway restaurant Tuesday night.

Justin Wise, 28, of 1487 Farmington Ave., went into the Subway at 1426 Farmington Ave. at around 9:30 p.m., brandishing a knife and wearing pantyhose over his face, an employee told police. Wise reportedly demanded money and when the employee gave it to him, fled on foot. 

Police said when they responded to the armed robbery call, they quickly identified Wise, a former Subway employee, as a suspect.

Detectives found him, with the money, sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Unionville Stop & Shop, police said. He was taken into custody without incident. Police also reportedly found numerous other items of evidence in Wise's vehicle.

He was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, sixth-degree larceny and first-degree robbery. Wise was held on $250,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in court Dec. 5, where his case was continued until Jan. 3 and his bond was raised to $350,000.
