Farmington Man Killed in Accident Saturday

Douglas Cox, 53, died in a snowy crash.

A Farmington man was killed during a car accident with a home heating oil delivery truck on Plainville Avenue in the snow Saturday.

Douglas Cox, 53, was driving a 1981 Ford Taurus north on Plainville Avenue near Silversmith when police say he appears to have lost control of his car. It appears Cox slid into the southbound lane, police said, where he collided with the heating oil truck, driven by Kristian Kallenbach of Bristol.

Cox was alone in the car. Kallenbach and his passenger were uninjured, police said.

The accident is under investigation by the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Team. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Jamie Stone at 860-675-2400.
