Farmington Man Sentenced to Jail Time in Child Pornography Case

A Hartford Superior Court judge sentenced a Farmington man with a minimum of three years of jail time last Thursday in a child pornography case. 

Michael Adam Szwarc, 25, was convicted of second-degree illegal possession of child pornography Oct. 10, 2013 after his arrest in March of this year. 

Szwarc's full sentence is ten years in prison suspended after three with 10 year of probation. That means that if he violates his 10-year probation after he is released from jail following three years of incarceration, he could be subject to serving the remaining seven years in prison, as defined on the state website. 

When State Police from Troop H in Hartford searched Szwarc's home on a warrant while investigating a tip received, they discovered around 50 pornographic videos featuring individuals under 16 and hundreds of images of that nature, prosecuting attorney Richard Rubino said, according to The Hartford Courant. However, public defender Robert Meredith contested that there were less videos than that, the newspaper reported.
