Farmington Police Arrest Men Linked to April Car Burglary Spree

Darius Lesinski, 22, of West Hartford, and Steven D. Figler, 21, of Newington, face multiple burglary and larceny charges.

Police recently arrested two men they say are responsible for the series of April car break-ins in the Highlands neighborhood, Orchard Road and Fairview Avenue in Farmington.

Steven D. Figler, 21, of Newington, and Darius Lesinski, 22, of West Hartford have been charged with multiple counts of third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit those crimes in four different cases.

The string of car burglaries spanned between April 15 and 21, according to police. The culprits took multiple items from the cars, police previously said.

Both men face identical charges of 19 counts of third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, 12 counts of criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny and four counts of sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny due to the car burglary spree, according to police.

Lesinski also was charged with violation of probation charges in two different cases after the burglary arrests.

The two men were held on surety bonds and scheduled to appear in court July 11 and July 15, respectively.

In April, police reminded residents to lock their car doors and keep their valuables stored inside their homes. Police also gave the following tips for securing valuable items when parking in public lots and outside homes in July after recent car break-ins in public places.
