Local Man Accused of Posting Nude Photos of Young Girls Online

Police said Nicholas Olsen had built up a collection of images over the years of girls as young as 12 and posted them on a website.

Plainville police have arrested a man accused of posting nude images of several teenagers on a sexually explicit website.

Police said the suspect, Nicholas O. Olsen, 22, of Plainville, had built up a collection of nude images of several young Plainville girls after soliciting the images from various people throughout the years, police said.

Police launched an investigation in April after a member of the Plainville police detective division began investigating a complaint of an Internet website that contained these nude images. The purpose of the site, police said, was to allow users to anonymously exchange photos and videos that were sexual in nature without having to go through a registration or verification procedure, police said.

According to a police news release, 20 females on the website were identified as former or current Plainville residents. Sixteen of them were between the ages of 12 and 15 at the time the nude photographers were taken.

"None of these females had any knowledge that these private photographs that they once consented to several years ago were going to be posted on this website nor did they give anybody permission to do so," according to the release prepared by Sgt. Nicholas Mullins.

An "extensive investigation" led police to Olsen as the suspect, who was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography, eight counts of promoting a minor in an obscene performance, second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He is due in Bristol Superior Court on Monday.

During the course of the investigation police also said they learned that Olsen previously had a sexual relationship with a female who was fourteen or fifteen years of age.
