Man With a Dozen Convictions Arrested Again in Farmington

Man charged with criminal violation of a protective order.

Shawn Joseph Lachance, 38, of 146 Terryville Ave., Terryville, was arrested on Red Coat Lane and charged with criminal violation of a protective order.

According to police, Lachance was at a home in violation of a court order, which also constituted a violation of probation on 2011 convictions for a previous criminal violation of a restraining order and first-degree failure to appear, according to the state judicial website.

Lachance has 13 conviction entries on the state judicial website, most with multiple charges ranging for narcotics possession, larceny, DUI and several incidents of driving under a suspended license, failure to appear and violation of probation. Records indicate Lachance has served several short jail sentences.

In 2008 Lachance was also convicted of criminal violation of probation for which he was sentenced to 2 years in jail, execution suspended with 3 years probation. He violated his probation and was sentenced to a year in jail in 2010, according to the records. The arresting agency in that case was Farmington Police.

Lachance is scheduled for court appearances on Feb. 15 and 22. Records indicate a bail commissioner’s letter has been sent and Lachance is free on a $100,000 surety bond.
