New Charge Filed in Westfarms Child Sex Assault Case

Windsor resident Alan Hickey was charged with third-degree sexual assault following an incident involving a 6-year-old girl at Westfarms Mall in June.

Alan Hickey, the man Farmington Police say allegedly exposed and forced a 6-year-old girl to touch his penis in the Go Calendar store at Westfarms Mall, has had an additional public indecency charge filed against him.

Hickey, a 50-year-old Windsor resident, was charged with third-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and public indecency in the June 10 incident.

At the time of Hickey's arrest, . His newest public indecency charge, according to Farmington Police Lt. Marshall Porter, stems from an interaction with another minor in the Go Calendar store.

"We saw him on video expose himself to another girl - Jane Doe we call her - so we went ahead and got a warrant," Porter said. The department was hoping other victims would come forward, but Porter said at the time of the initial arrest, parents of the victims weren't necessarily aware of the incident.

Hickey was apprehended in June after the police department received numerous calls identifying him to be the suspect from mall surveillance videos.

Hickey is also suspected of having been involved in a similar lewd act in Naugatuck.

A complaint was filed with the Naugatuck Police in 2009, alleging he pulled alongside a woman on I-84 and began to touch his genitals.

No charges have been filed by the Naugatuck Police, but Naugatuck Lt. Todd Brouilette, said the department intends to pursue the case to the extent that the law allows.

According to the state judicial website, Hickey remains in custody on $360,000 bond and will appear in court on July 23.
