One Cited with Selling Alcohol to Minor

Only one Farmington business sold to a minor during recent police checks.

Just one employee was issued a summons for sale of alcohol to a minor after police conducted alcohol compliance checks recently.

According to a press release from Farmington Police, an 18-year-old attempted to buy alcohol at nine local liquor stores and one grocery store under police supervision. Nine of the businesses refused to sell to the minor.

Police issued Nariain Ramchandani, 73, an employee at Liquor Square, 75 South Main St., Unionville, a misdemeanor summons for sale of alcohol to a minor. He is scheduled to appear in Hartford Community Court on Jan. 9, 2013.
