Police Arrest 14 Over the Weekend

Arrests for Feb. 14

Thomas Burke, 56, of 28 Reverknolls, Avon, was arrested Feb. 13 at the intersection of Waterville Road and St. Andrews Street and charged with failure to keep right on a curve, no insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating under the influence. He was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 23, 2011.

Darren James Myers, 32, of 15 Prospect Ave. Apt. 15, New Britain, was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with second-degree breach of peace, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespassing. He was released on $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 16. According to police documents, police responded to a complaint that Myers was trying to break in to a vacationing neighbor’s house. Police said he was highly intoxicated and thought he was at a friend’s house in Rocky Hill.

Elizabeth Marsh, 26, of 705 Lake Ave. Apt. 38, Bristol, was arrested Feb. 13 at the intersection of Scott Swamp Road and Inwood Lane and charged with making an improper turn and operating under the influence. She was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 23, 2011.

Jason Allen Riccio, 27, of 10 Talcott Notch Road Apt. I, was arrested Feb. 13 at 230 Farmington Ave. and charged with failure to drive right and operating under the influence. He was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 23, 2011.

Bryan Minerly, 22, of 74 Greenwood St., New Britain, turned himself in on a warrant Feb. 12. He was charged with second-degree failure to appear. He was released on $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 22, 2011.

John Eric Trider, 41, of 15 Crestwood Circle, was arrested Feb. 12 at home and charged with second-degree breach of peace in connection with a domestic incident. He was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 14, 2011.

Alexander Purrier, 21, of 76 Sylvan Ave., was arrested Feb. 12 on Taine Mountain Road and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana. He was released on $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 16, 2011.

John W. Vibert, 21, of 126 Main St., was arrested Feb. 12 on Taine Mountain Road and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana. He was released on $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 16, 2011.

Joshua Steven Sidoti, 20, of 19 Griffinville Road, was arrested Feb. 12 at the police department and charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and first-degree larceny. He was held on $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 22, 2011. Police documents indicate he is accused of stealing a safe, containing $173,000 worth of jewelry from a home in July of 2010. The jewelry has not been recovered and additional arrests are expected.

Theodore Zafiris, 24, of 95 Seiter Hill Road, Wallingford, was arrested Feb. 12 and charged with second-degree failure to appear, interfering with an officer, operating under the influence and second-degree reckless endangerment. He was released on $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear March 2, 2011. According to police documents, officers found Zafiris passed out in his car with the car still running and the doors locked at 435 Main St. Officers tried unsuccessfully to wake him. When Zafiris eventually woke up, he began moving his car forward and backward, hitting snowbanks in the process, police said. After he ignored officers commands to stop, one officer smashed the passenger side window and reached into the car, putting it in park. Police were then able to arrest him and he posted bond.

Cesar Raynier Vasquez, 34, of 27 Putnam St. Apt. 2W, was arrested Feb. 12 at the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Garden Street. He was charged with making an improper turn and operating under the influence. He was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 23, 2011.

Jeffrey Michael Tarigo, 31, of 2202 Harbor View Dr, Rocky Hill, was arrested Feb. 12 at the intersection of South Road and Two Mile Road and charged with making an improper turn, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating under the influence. He was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 23, 2011.
