Police arrested a Torrington man Friday following an investigation into a complaint of voyeurism incidents involving a coworker while he was employed at the Avon Post Office.

Craig D'Angelo, who turns 43 on Saturday, was working at the post office on 15 Enford Street in Avon when police received complaints from a United States Postal Service special agent "reporting possible incidents of voyeurism taking place" there, according to a press release from the Avon Police Department.

Police acted on a search and seizure warrant and did a "digital forensic examination" on his cell phone, "which was allegedly used to commit the act of voyeurism," as well as his personal computer, police said.

"No evidence was found of continued misconduct and any other victims," Avon police Lt. Kelly Walsh said in the press release.

Walsh further said in an email to Avon Patch that "there was no digital evidence obtained (no footage)."

"We obtained statements and applied for an arrest warrant which was granted," she said.

Police released D'Angelo, of 225 Allison Drive, Torrington, on a $2,500 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior on Dec. 18.

Patch couldn't reach Craig D'Angelo immediately for comment, but left a voicemail message on his listed home phone number seeking comment. The postmaster at the Avon Post Office declined to comment on the situation or whether D'Angelo is still employed at the post office.

It is unclear whether D'Angelo still works at the Avon Post Office or any other postal offices in Connecticut.

"As a federal agency, privacy laws do not allow me to provide that information," Maureen Marion, a postal service spokesperson in Connecticut wrote in an email to Patch.

London Mulcahy, the public information officer for the Postal Office of the Inspector General, told Patch in a phone interview Friday that the investigation by the inspector general's office was completed.

“It was a joint investigation between our agency and the Avon Police Department," she said, declining to comment further on the case while it is pending in court.

More information will be provided when it becomes available.
