Police K-9 Finds Farmington Shoplifting Suspect Hiding in Shed

A shoplifting suspect who fled from JC Penney security was found hiding in a shed near the West Hartford Town Line by Southeast Road on July 9.

According to a Farmington Police report, Rolanda Lashay Caldwell, 24, 35 Sumner St., Hartford, was arrested about 10:40 a.m. following the incident at the JCPenney at Westfarms Mall. Caldwell is accused of running from loss prevention personnel and hiding in a shed in a nearby neighborhood. A police K-9 unit found her.

Caldwell was charged with sixth-degree larceny and second-degree breach of peace. She was released after posting $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 16.
