Police Looking for Witnesses in Crash

No charges filed yet in tractor-trailer, Jeep collision that closed Meadow Road Tuesday.

The Farmington Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash which occurred at 3:16 p.m. Tuesday on Meadow Road west of Garden Street. A tandem tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on Meadow Road collided with a westbound Jeep. The three involved persons (both operators and a passenger in the tractor unit) were transported to John Dempsey Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The tractor-trailer truck left the south side of the roadway after the collision and came to rest on an embankment by the Pequabuck River. The State DEEP responded and arranged to have the truck’s fuel tanks offloaded, and no spill resulted. The roadway was closed until 7 a.m. today to allow the scene to be cleared.

No charges have yet been filed, and the incident remains under investigation. The Commercial Safety Division of DMV is assisting.
