Police: Man Asleep at the Wheel Had Engine Running, Foot on the Pedal

James Grier, 26, of 43 Scott Drive, Bloomfield, was arrested May 13 at 270 New Britain Ave. and charged with second-degree breach of peace, illegal obtaining or supplying and possession of narcotics. According to police reports, Grier was involved in a domestic disturbance with the mother of his child. He was released on $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear May 14, 2012.

Afiya Lewis, 22, of 270 New Britain Ave., Unionville, was arrested May 13 at home and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer. According to police reports, Lewis was involved in a physical domestic disturbance with the father of her child. She was released on $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear May 14, 2012.

Shaniqua Legette, 19, of 91 Connecticut Blvd., East Hartford, was arrested May 12 at 1600 Southeast Road and charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. According to police she is accused of shoplifting at Nordstorm Rack. Legette was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear May 23, 2012.

Natoria Buxton, 31, of 12 Convoy Drive, New Britain, was arrested May 12 at Westfarms mall and charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to sixth-degree larceny. According to police, Buxton is accused of shoplifting from JC Penney. She was released and scheduled to appear May 23, 2012.

Janell Campbell, 24, of 21 Convoy Drive, New Britain, was arrested May 12 at Westfarms mall and charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to sixth-degree larceny. According to police, Campbell is accused of shoplifting from JC Penney. She was released and scheduled to appear May 23, 2012.

Imelda Barajas, 44, of 82 Lincoln St., Hartford, was arrested May 12 at Westfarms mall and charged with sixth-degree larceny. She was held on $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear May 14, 2012.

Jason Linwood Stetson, 28, of 44 Ratlumn Mountain Road, Barkhamsted, was arrested May 12 at 70 South Main St., and charged with operating under the influence. According to police, an officer spotted Stetson in the 7-Eleven parking lot sleep in his car with the engine running and his foot on the brake. He was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear May 23, 2012.

Frank Woodward, 29, of 206 Wheeler Road, was arrested May 12 at the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Westerberg Drive and charged with first-degree failure to appear. He was held on $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear May 14, 2012.

Timothy Rexin, 26, of 88 Dunne Ave., Collinsville, was arrested May 12 at the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Westerberg Drive and charged with drinking while operating a motor vehicle and operating under the influence. He was scheduled to appear May 22, 2012. Woodward was also charged with interfering with an officer after he gave police a fake name, according to arrest reports. He was held on $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear May 14, 2012.

Meghan Sykes, 18, of 23 Farnsworth Drive, New Hartford, was arrested May 11 at the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Westerberg Drive and charged with interfering with an officer. According to police, Sykes lied to police about her boyfriend’s name. She was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear May 23, 2012.

John Purcell, 61, of 15 Valley View Road, Manchester, was arrested May 11 at the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Westerberg Drive and charged with operating under the influence. He was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear May 23, 2012.
