Man Accused of Stealing Wood, Woman of DUI With Child on Her Lap

Thomas Badera, 53, of 58 Pinewood Drive, was arrested Nov. 6 and accused of stealing firewood from a home in the highlands. Badera, who was arrested earlier this year when his dogs allegedly bit people on the Rails-to-Trails, allegedly attempted to take trees fallen in the storm from residents’ yards. He was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a written promise to appear in court Nov. 16, 2011.

Doreen Melendez, 38, of 100 Wellington Drive, was arrested by warrant Nov. 4 on charges she drove her car with her 2-year-old on her lap after using drugs. Melendez was charged with operating under the influence, reckless driving and risk of injury to a minor. She was released on $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 8, 2011.

Thomas Filon, 75, of 465 Middle Road U59, was arrested at home Nov. 8 during a domestic disturbance. He was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with a 911 call. He was released on $250 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 9, 2011.

Kevin Karpicki, 43, of 78 Garrigus Court, Wolcott, was arrested Nov. 7 at the intersecion of Route 177 and Depot Place during a domestic disturbance investigation. He was charged with interfering with a 911 call. Karpicki was released on $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 8, 2011.

William James White, 44, of Arch Street in New Britain was arrested Nov. 7 by warrant in Hartford Superior Court. He was charged with fourth-degree larceny and accused of shoplifting from Westfarms mall in September. He was held on $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 7, 2011.

Bryan Valigursky, 34, of 106 Eastview Road, Terryville was arrested Nov. 8 at 19 Lakeshore Drive and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. According to arrest reports, Valigursky had a crack cocaine pipe on him while also trespassing. He was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 16, 2011.

Shanay Mitto, 20 of 31 Love Lane, Hartford was arrested Nov. 8 at Westfarms mall and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny and fifth-degree larceny. She as released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 16, 2011.
