Police: Man Used Baseball Bat to Demand Pay

Arrests for July 5

Istvan Gyurik, 50, of 32 Atwater Road, Collinsville, was arrested July 1 and charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace after an incident at a job site. According to arrest reports, Gyurik approached a former employer and began demanding money owed to him, before allegedly attacking him with a baseball bat. He was held on $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear July 12, 2011.

Stephanie Scionti, 24, of 133 Butternut Lane, Bristol, was arrested July 5 at 1748 Farmington Ave. and charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with a domestic incident. She was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear July 6, 2011.

Trevor Gaudette, 25, of 1748 Farmington Ave., was arrested July 5 at home and charged with second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening in connection with a domestic incident. He was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear July 6, 2011.

Heather Lapoint, 19, of 85 Sigourney St., Hartford, was arrested July 5 at Westfarms mall and charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny. She was released on $250 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear July 13, 2011.

Marc Vallen, 24, of 21 Willoughby St., Bristol, was arrested July 5 at the intersection of Red Oak Hill and New Britain Avenue during a motor vehicle stop. According to arrest reports, Vallen was found with illegal fireworks and charged with operating under suspension and possession of fireworks. He was released on a written promise to appear in court July 14, 2011.

Janine Matzkow, 35, of 65 Birch St., Manchester, was arrested July 5 at Westfarms mall and charged with sixth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held on $250 surety bond.

Benjamin Owusu Darko, 35, of 11 Great Hill Road, East Hartford, was arrested July 1 at the intersection of Route 6 and Interstate 84 and charged with criminal impersonation, failure to drive in the proper lane and interfering with an officer after he allegedly provided a fake name during a motor vehicle stop. He was released on $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear July 13, 2011.
