Police: Shoplifter Assaulted TJ Maxx Loss Prevention Employees

Farmington police arrested a Middletown man on larceny and robbery charges after TJ Maxx loss prevention confronted him during a shoplifting incident and an altercation ensued, according to police.

Paul Raymond Kus, 43, of 15 Erin St. in Middletown, turned himself in on a warrant Sept. 4. He is accused of shoplifting and assaulting loss prevention at the TJ Maxx at 1600 Southeast Rd., police said. 

Police charged him with third-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. 

Raymond was released after posting a $10,000 surety bond. He was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 10.
