[Update] Volunteers Lend a Hand in Farmington Missing Person Case

Friends of a missing Farmington teen's family and many volunteers spent hours Saturday raising awareness in a community effort to help bring her home up until she was found Saturday evening.

Juliette Lyon, 15, hadn't been seen since around 8 p.m. on July 18 near the CVS on Main Street (Route 10).

Saturday afternoon, friends of Lyon's family handed out missing person flyers to passing motorists entering Farmington near the busy intersection of Routes 4 and 10. Some people held posters with an enlarged version of the flyer for drivers to see her face. By late afternoon, at least one volunteer was holding up a sign with Lyon's picture on it near the intersection where Route 4 empties onto the highway.

One of the volunteers, Jamie Harris, was out by the Farmington Country Club with his wife raising awareness. As he helped spread the word and shared Lyon's picture with the public, he had this message for Juliette: "If you see this, you know, please call home...just let us know you're alright."

After 48 hours with no sign of her whereabouts, state police issued a Silver Alert Saturday. By the evening, they located her, working in collaboration with the Hartford and New Britain police.
