Update: Police Locate Jack Stierer of Farmington Following Silver Alert

Update, Nov. 12, 7:19 p.m.

Police confirmed Tuesday evening that they found a Farmington man who went missing Monday.

Police found Jack Stierer, 59, of Farmington, "in a wooded area in Farmington unharmed," police said in a statement.

"Stierer was transported to a local hospital for evaluation," police said.

Connecticut State Police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing Farmington man.

Jack G. Stierer, 59, of 43 Cope Farms Rd., was last seen Nov. 11 wearing a grey college sweatshirt, possibly with a Boston University logo on it, and either jeans or blue sweatpants.

Police said that he is "thought to be despondent and left the area on foot." Officers combed the area with K-9 units without success.

"During the evening hours, Farmington Police were assisted by the CT State Police Trooper 1 helicopter to check the surrounding wooded areas," police said in a press release.

He is 5', 10" and 190 pounds.

"Stierer is not thought to be a danger to others," police said in a press release.
