Unionville Woman Pleads Guilty to Stop & Shop Credit Card Thefts

Jayne Spagnolo, 26, of Unionville, is also barred from entering Stop & Shop stores.

A Unionville woman accused of multiple credit card thefts in her hometown Stop & Shop pleaded guilty Tuesday in two of the cases.

Hartford Superior Court Judge Joan Alexander sentenced Jayne Lynne Spagnolo, 26, to consecutive one-year suspended sentences in the cases and two years of probation. That means that if Spagnolo is arrested while on probation, she could face up to one year for each case in jail.

As part of a plea deal, Spagnolo agreed to pay $630 in restitution for her crimes and to stay out of Stop & Shop grocery stores for the foreseeable future.

Spagnolo is still facing larceny charges in separate cases in Newington and Cromwell, according to the state judicial website.
