Political Experience:  Limited. I’ve not previously held or run for elective office.

Why are you running for office?  Now that my children are a bit older, I have the time and ability to give back to a town that has been my home for more than 20 years. On the ZBA, I believe that I can help to preserve the character of our town, while considering the economic needs of its citizens and businesses and demonstrating respect for property rights.

If elected, what would be your primary areas of focus?  Ensuring that proposed land uses conform to the regulations that Farmington residents have developed and that applicants and opponents are treated respectfully and fairly, within the rules.

What issues or opportunities is the town facing today?  Maintaining a tax base that supports essential services and Farmington’s phenomenal school system while preserving the historic, scenic farming – town in which we live.

How would you propose to address them?  As a ZBA member, applying the rules and the town’s plan for conservation and development evenly and accurately.  I do not see the ZBA as having a legislative function.

Anything else you would like to share?  For those who do not know me, I am often that guy whom you see standing in the Farmington River and waving a stick.
