Ensign-Bickford to Present on Live Fire Training Facility at Council Meeting

The Town Council is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. to discuss a number of items from proposed land purchases to an anti-texting while driving proclamation.

Ensign-Bickford Foundation, Inc. will do a presentation at Monday's Town Council meeting "in support of the live fire training facility" for which Farmington's fire departments are raising funds, according to the agenda.

The Town Council will also discuss the possibility of awarding the bid for "Unionville Streetscape Project Phase II" to Millennium Builders, Inc. for $82,458, as well as purchasing the three-acre Dunning Sand and Gravel property at Lot 1A River Road and two other lots on Plainville Avenue owned by Joyce Medvec and Shirley Bryant.

The town of Farmington is also reviewing extending the town's lease to T-Mobile Northeast, LLC for a cell phone tower at 2 Westwoods Dr.  

The council is also slated to give a proclamation cautioning against texting while driving and to discuss land purchases.

Toward the end of the meeting, the council will go into executive session to "discuss matters concerning pending litigation and land acquisition."
