Farmington Council to Hold Budget Deliberations Saturday

Special meeting to be held to consider and take action on proposed 2013-14 town, school budgets and tax rate.

The Town Council will hold a special meeting Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall to consider and take action on the 2013-14 operating budget.

The council has just concluded a week of workshops in which it heard detailed reports on the individual budget of town departments, including the Board of Education, Fire Department, Public Works, Community and Recreation, Economic Development, Library and General Administration. During those meetings, council members were able to ask questions and discuss the department budgets.

Saturday morning, the council will begin discussions on what action to take on the budget, including whether to make any cuts.
