Farmington Hires New Town Planner

Robert Phillips is also a Farmington resident.

Farmington has hired a new town planner to replace Jeffrey Ollendorf, who is retiring after 25 years, town officials announced this week.

Robert Phillips, who has served as town planner for the Town of Ellington the past eight years is expected to begin in the position Aug. 5.

Phillips spent eight years with the town of Ellington, before which he served as planning coordinator for the Town of Windsor Locks. He holds a Master of Public Administration and a Masters of Science in Natural Resources, both from the University of Connecticut.

One thing that appealed to town officials is that Phillips is also a Farmington resident.

Town Manager Kathleen Eagen said she is “pleased to have Mr. Phillips join the town’s management team and looks forward to working together. His professional background, collaborative approach and proactive style are a great match for Farmington.”
