Farmington TPZ to Discuss Proposed Assisted Living Facility

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Columbia Wegman Acquisitions, LLC is applying to build an assisted living facility in Farmington.

The Washington D.C. company is looking to put the facility at 99, 101 and 111 Scott Swamp Road and has applied for a zone change and special permit to do so.

There will be a public hearing for the application at Monday's Town Planning and Zoning meeting in Town Hall at 7 p.m.

The commission will also discuss applications for relocating the "generator at the highway garage" on New Britain Avenue, the installation of "above ground tanks" at 55 Spring Ln., an expansion at The Country Club of Farmington, and for multiple signs, according to the agenda.

Commission members are also considering setting a Jan. 22 special meeting to review a proposed "zoning regulation concerning medical marijuana." The commission adopted a six-month moratorium on medical marijuana facilities in October to have more time to study the new state laws on the subject.
