From the Town: Partial Power Restoration, National Guard at Work

Unionville Center, Farmington High School, parts of Route 6 now have power.

The Town of Farmington continues to demand the need for additional CL&P resources.   Farmington Town Council members held a press conference Thursday afternoon to exert pressure on CL&P about the lack of response to Farmington. We also remain in constant contact with the governor’s office.  Senior officials of the Farmington Valley towns will be meeting today to hear from high-level CL&P executives about a restoration plan.  The Town is doing everything we can to exert pressure on CL&P for power restoration.

As of this morning, the National Guard has come into town along with the CL&P crews to help cut trees. The Town of Farmington crews and Town contractors continue to remove trees from roadways in order to facilitate CL&P’s on-going restoration of removing downed wires.

At this time we have seen some limited power restoration in Unionville Center and parts of Route 6 and we expect to see limited restoration throughout the day.
