Is Farmington Open for Business? Candidates Disagree

Town Council candidates discussed whether the town's economic climate is favorable for businesses.

One topic candidates disagreed on during the at Farmington High School was whether Farmington is doing well at attracting and keeping businesses in town. 

Jeff Hogan, candidate for Town Council chairman shared a Hartford Business Journal article published in August that touts Farmington as "a leading hub for central Connecticut economic development." He also pointed to a recent survey of local businesses done by the Economic Development Commission.

Republican incumbent Charlie Keniston criticized some town policies, including strict sign ordinances and the prohibition on drive-throughs. Independent William Baker also criticized the town's sign policies and the town's economic climate.
