Two Farmington Restaurants Participating in Connecticut Restaurant Week

There are over 100 restaurants participating in the state's fifth annual Restaurant Week. Tell us why you like Restaurant Week and these restaurants in the comments!

Though just two Farmington establishments are participating, more than 100 restaurants in Connecticut are taking part in the fifth annual Connecticut Restaurant Week from Oct. 8 to 14.

The Connecticut Restaurant Association, Sysco Connecticut and American Express are the co-sponsors of the week-long event, according to a press release.

"Restaurant Week provides diners with a unique opportunity to go out and enjoy a great meal at a great price," Nicole Griffin, executive director of Connecticut Restaurant Association, said in a press release. "Restaurants from Mystic to Stamford to Litchfield are participating in this year's event."

There are of course many restaurants in Farmington and the immediate area that you can go to any time, but this week, patrons be able to order off a Restaurant Week menu priced at $20.12 at participating restaurants. There will be three course prix-fixe fare, specials for two, deals on bottles of wine and other specials that vary by restaurant.

Many of the prix fix menus highlight fall-themed specials, with pumpkin and butternut squash soup, bisque, and ravioli among the offerings.

Joey Garlic's $20.12 menu offers a large cheese pizza with up to two toppings and an appetizer.

Wood-n-Tap is offering choice of an appetizer, chowder of salad, an entree and dessert for the $20.12 price. Appetizers include potato pancakes or soft pretzels; entrees include angel hair pasta, chicken marsala, Berkshire burger and chicken and the egg. Dessert is house-made cheesecake.

Across the line in West Hartford, Besito's $20.12 menu includes Enchiladas Suizas, a year-round favorite, as an option. Blue Elephant Trail offers both Pumpkin Curry and Pad Pumpkin, in addition to Pad Thai Crispy Chicken. Bricco's offerings include Swordfish Involtini and Chicken Parmigiana.

Grants' famous Chicken Pot Pie is on the menu, as is Pot Roast. At Joey's Pizza Pie, restaurant week diners can have a large cheese pizza with any two toppings and a choice of appetizer for $20.12.

Max Burger's specials include a Porterhouse Pork Chop, and Max's Oyster Bar is also participating with entrees that include Block Island Swordfish and Butternut Squash Ravioli.

“Restaurants and customers alike benefit from this great week of meals and deals," Griffin said. "Connecticut is home to so many wonderful varieties of cuisines and Restaurant Week is a fantastic way to showcase them."
