Update from Economic Development Coordinator

News for businesses

Farmington’s Economic Development Coordinator Courtney Hendricson has been trying to keep in touch with businesses and keep them informed. She says the Town is doing everything it can to put pressure on CL&P to get local businesses back to work. So far, a few restaurants have been able to stay open and serve their customers – some by candlelight. But other have had to wait it out while losing revenue.

UTILITY

The Town of Farmington understands the significance of our businesses not having power and we continue to put a lot of pressure on CL&P to restore power as soon as possible!

Again, Route 4 and Route 6 and major commercial arteries are the utility's top priority.

Currently there are CL&P crews in Farmington and we remain in constant communication with the utility.

ROUTE 44

Route 44 is open and gas stations along the Route 44 corridor are open.

Gas stations on Route 6 in Bristol are also open.

TOWN SERVICES

Town Hall continues to be closed due to lack of power.

The Town's Compost station located at Tunxis Mead Park off of Red Oak Hill Road will be open extended hours from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm through Sunday.

Brush can also be brought to the street where town crews will collect it.

The Town's emergency shelter located at Farmington High School will remain open as long as there is a need.  Residents are encouraged to bring their own bedding, medications, toiletries, and personal items.
