Chamber of Commerce Announces Award Winners

Gave five $1,000 scholarships to 2012 Farmington High School graduates.

Each year The Farmington Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to qualified Farmington High School Students. This year the chamber awarded five $1,000 scholarships to 2012 graduates.

In addition to the Chamber, funding for the scholarships was provided by gold sponsors Farmington Bank and Trumpf, Inc. and silver sponsors Westfarms Mall and Sanford Brown College.

Each year, the Chamber sponsors a Business Plan Competition for two of the scholarships, encouraging students to consider entrepreneurial ventures and a career in business.

This year, Brian Leblanc and Erin Westcott received the business plan awards. Also receiving scholarships were Shelby Eastman, Karina Marvin, and Matthew Swanson.
