Deadline to Sign Up for Adult Spelling Bee is March 4

Don't "Bee" late! It's time to register for the Farmington Public School Foundation's (FPSF) 2nd Annual Adult Spelling Bee!  The 2012 event hosted a sell-out crowd so see what the buzz is about and sign up today.

The deadline to sign up for this year’s event is now Monday, March 4th. Purchase your general admission tickets or join the action by registering a team of three on our website at http://www.fpsfoundation.org/events.php. 

The funds raised from this event support the growth and innovation of our schools by funding projects initiated by teachers or administrators. Students and teachers alike, are given the opportunity to go above and beyond the routine curriculum, strengthening our schools, our students and our community. Help us strengthen our schools and have fun at the same time!

Event Details: The evening begins with a casual dinner from Flaggstead Smokehouse, a cash bar, and a silent auction with items such as Red Sox tickets, yoga classes and plenty of other unique experiences for parents and kids alike. Next comes the Spelling Bee!

During the Spelling Bee, teams will collaborate on each spelling word during a specific time period and present their word on a white board for consideration by the judges. Just like last year, there is no "solo spelling." Teams can also buy a lifeline for those tricky words, so even if you're not on a team, "Bee" ready in case your friends need your help!  

Our Master of Ceremonies is Gino Moncada, Owner of the Gallery Salon, Farmington and our judges are  Alicia Bowman, Principal West Woods Upper Elementary School, Mary Grace Reed, Farmington BOE Chair, and Jeffrey Hogan, Town Council Chair.      

We are so excited about our new, larger venue that we have increased our maximum team registrations to allow 30 teams to compete for the title of Spelling Bee Champion. Show your team spirit! Team costumes, t-shirts and signs are all welcome and encouraged.
