17th-Century Connecticut Symposium

An annual symposium focused on Connecticut's 17th-century history, geography and material culture. Lunch included in admission.  Registration required by September 13. Six speakers will focus on a variety of topics:

  • Connecticut's Integration into the Atlantic Economy by Dr. Joseph Avitable
  • Gifts form the Dead: The Beneficiaries of 17th-century Probate Records by Rebecca Guernsey
  • Connecticut's 17th-Century Material Culture by William Hosley
  • Battlefields of the Pequot War: Project, Documents and Archaeology by Kevin McBride, Laurie Pasteryak, David Naumec, Ashley Bissonette
  • Finding Invisiuble Seventeenth-Century Women by Alice Plouchard Stelzer
  • The Revered and the Reviled: Two Early Families of Connecticut by Donarita Vocca
