Poet's Day

(FARMINGTON, Conn. August 21, 2012) — Andy Weil, the originator and facilitator of the national award-winning program ALFA, will lead a poetry reading during a Poet’s Day celebration at Village Gate on Tuesday, August 21 at 2 p.m. Village Gate is located at 88 Scott Swamp Road in Farmington.

 The public is invited to enjoy beautifully crafted, emotionally charged poems. Light refreshments will be provided. Those interested in joining Village Gate’s Poetry Club are welcome to call 860-676-8626.

 The club, which meets every second and fourth Friday of the month at 2 p.m., is a “no rules” club whereby participants are not labored with homework or pressures of any kind.

 The club’s goal is to simply help participants look inward to discover any range of emotions they may be feeling – be it an epiphany, a death of a loved one, the euphoria of a grandchild’s birth, or the stimulation of eating a hot fudge sundae with homemade ice cream.
