Researching Julia Roper

Joann Zeisner describes her ongoing research into Julia Roper, an Irish immigrant and Civil War widow who lived in the Stanley-Whitman House in the 1860s and 1870s. Researching Mrs. Roper's life took twists and turns, as well as digging into primary sources at libraries, archives and cemeteries. After the talk, take a special tour of the historic house focused on Julia Roper's occupancy.  Museum members admitted free.
