On Saturday, September 22, the Farmington Libraries will host certified music practitioner, psychologist, and researcher Marcie Swift, for a performance and discussion about the timeless magic, power, and allure of the harp.

This ancient instrument has been used for transformation and transition throughout the world. Come hear the history of this mystical instrument; learn of the modern application of harp therapy to ease pain, stress, depression and illness; hear the many astonishing tales of transformation during harp therapy sessions. Audience members will experience first-hand the soothing tones of the harp, when Marcie plays a wide range of beautiful music, paired with her own improvisations and story-telling. Ease yourself into bliss when Marcie weaves her colorful stories and guided images into the therapeutic massage of the music. Marcie will bring several of her Celtic harps, including her Reverie harp, which each member of the audience may play to experience its wonderful healing vibrations. Marcia also has recorded two CDs, both of which will be available for purchase.
